A 48 Hour Event consists of 9 legs (flights) to be completed within a 48 hour period. The route is circular, in other words, the initial departure point for the Event is also the final destination. Because of this route layout, we are able to offer you the choice of initial departure which will enable you to start the Event at a specified location to join other pilots already participating.
The event is held over a 48 Hour period, starting at 0000 UTC and expires at 2359 UTC on the following day. No flight reports will be accepted outside of these times.
A 48 Hour Event can be held at any time and will be advertised well in advance. Only one 48 Hour Event will be active at any one time. Details of current, upcoming and historic events can be found at:
The Monthly Online Event consists of a number of legs (flights), up to 25, held in a particular area of the world. Some of the most popular flights include mountainous areas such as the Rocky's and the Himalaya's. The event has a fixed departure point and all legs must be flown sequentially. There are no limitations on the aircraft that can be used, but the event designer may recommend an aircraft type because of the terrain or airport limitations.
The event is held each calendar month, starting at 0000 UTC on the 1st and ending at 2359 UTC on the last day of the month. No flight reports will be accepted outside of these times.
Only one Monthly Online Event can be held at any one time. As there are no breaks between events, no advanced advertising will be made. Details of current, upcoming and historic events can be found at:
The Tours are available at all times, but there are restrictions which may apply (see below). To join a Tour visit the Flight Services and select the Tour you wish to join. You can paticipate in one Tour only at any particular time.
Tours can be enjoyed at your own pace, there are no time limits.
Restrictions may apply to a Tour, These may limit your selection of aircraft, as we would not want to equip you with inappropriate tools to do the job. Other restrictions that may apply are based on your current status at Air SeaTac Virtual. If you do not meet the criteria the Tour will be unavailable.
As in all aviation activities, the use of UTC allows everyone to operate on the same time without the worry of time zone and Daylight Savings calculations, wherever you are located. For an explanation of UTC and it’s relevance to you, please refer to:
